How many doses of Tylenol is it safe to take to avoid rebound headaches?
I suffer from chronic headaches which ofter lead to migraines. I used to take Excedrin Migraine until my nose started bleeding because of the Aspirin in the drug. Advil does not work for me anymore, so I switched to Excedrin Tension which is Acetaminophen and Caffeine. I always take the recommended dosages. It seems to work most of the time, but when nothing works, I take 100mg of Imitrex. I get headaches about 2 weeks worth of every month and I average about 3 dosages of Excedrin Tension per week usually 2 3 days apart. I only take 2 pills and if that doesn't work, I either don't take anything else or take the Imitrex.I want to know if I am getting or risking rebound headaches by taking 3 dosages in a 7 day period. Can anybody with a medical degree answer this question?

I am afraid of getting rebound headaches-how long does it take 2 darvocet to get out of your system?
I am wondering how long I have to refrain from taking meds in order to not get a rebound headache. It is hard to tell a rebound from the real thing I would like to know that it is a real migraine and not a " rebound" headache before taking more meds. Dr wants me to only take meds 2 3 times a week, and past two weeks has been almost every day And please tell me how you know this info. THANKS

Suffering from rebound headaches?
i've had a constant headache for about 2 weeks now, it's here almost every day. i was taking pain killers daily or sometimes multiple times per day to relieve the pain even though they never helped, i still took them anyway and then i realised it's possible i might be suffering rebound headaches. i really don't know much about them, but can you develop rebound headaches after 2 weeks of taking pain killers? i haven't taken any for about 2 days yet my headache is still here, so how long would it take to recover from rebound headaches? i was taking ibuprofen if it makes a difference, thanks

Is this rebound headaches and when will it go AWAY??!! help please?
Hey guys,So for the past week I have had a headache off and on pretty much everyday. I researched it and I have had this before. It's called " rebound headaches" . I have not taken any medication the past week maybe one dose the whole week . I'm tired of waking up with headaches. Last night I had a dull migraine and this morning it feels even worse. How do you stop rebound headaches??? Avoid all medication, right?? Well what do I do in the mean time? My head is killing me and I have things to do. Can anyone help??? Thanks. ps If you're gonna say, go to the doctor..you don't have to. In a week if this isn't better I am going to go. I just wondered if anyone else had experience with these " rebound headaches" .

Rebound headaches and pain medications?
I have been dealing with a bad toothache for two weeks now.I have been to the dentist. I have a broken wisdom tooth that has developed an abcess and the infection has started to spread down into the bone. I am currently on antibiotics right now and am scheduled for oral surgery on the 5th of this month. For pain my dentist prescribed an 800 mg ibuprofen tablets three times a day and Vicodin 5 500 2 every 4 to 6 hours. I have been taking these for almost 2 weeks now and I am worried about rebound headaches from the pain meds since I am still needing to take them. I do get migraine headaches and have been through some very nasty rebound headaches in the past. So any ideas how I can keep from getting a rebound headache from the pain meds or lessen the severity of it if I do get one since I am obviously going to need to be on pain killers for a little while longer?
