Medication overuse headache...?
After having what i thought was a 'tension headache' for 2 weeks, ive been researching and is it possible that i have a medication overuse headache? im only 17 but i regularly get headaches 3 4 times a week and always take paracetamol and ibuprofen to get rid of them and even to prevent them when I can feel one coming...ive had a dull headache for 2 weeks now and It seems like a MOH is good possibility..I am stopping any medication for headaches now, and it says if it is a MOH it will take 7 10 days to get better, as it will get worse before it gets better

Medication overuse headache?? help! Any Doctors or Nurses who can advise?
Ive had a headache now for A WEEK. its at the top of my head, it feels tight, there have been periods when it has been stabbing behind my eye. i do get the once a month period migraine that no pill can take away. i also have terrible vertigo with this headache. i close my eyes my head spins, watching tv, head spins. its very disconcerting. i dont believe i have an ear infection.i think its medication related, i take tramadol 25mg most days to combat the pain of bursitis and also 2.5mg of sleeping tablets to help me sleep on most nights. this last few days i am desperate and have tried alternating between paracetamol ibuprofen with low dose of codeine to combat this headache. NOTHING works.tonight ive bitten the bullet and taken 100mg of tramadol and an hour ago aspirin with low dose of codeine. my head hurts so much if it is overuse of medication, i stop the medication i know. but will this headache go away? how long? could it be something more serious?it hurts when i press my face where my sinuses are.and i am really stressed the last eight weeks maybe longer squishi, thanks for the reply. i will see doctor on monday.natalie, thanks to you too i dont recall whether i had a headache the first time i had a period, though i must say this headache started when i got my period a week ago i do wear glasses and havent had a check up in years will do and knowing now it could be a migraine, i realise i have been munching on chocolate all week and oranges prevention makes perfect sense. i get these headaches constantly. nat, do you get migraines? how do you handle them? ive just download a headache diary that i will fill in and take to doctors. thank you both kindly Hi James, thanks for replying.i am in complete agreeance. i believe it started as a period sinus migrane but the tramadol made it worse along with the other pills. my bursitis is chronic 2 yrs , ive had 3 injections mnths of physio. i am now booked in to see a surgeon. the tramadol is the only thing that helps manage the pain. i HATE taking it, and only take a quarter of what DR suggested. the sleeping tablets i have been taking a quarter of recommended and that has been for the last eight weeks since i lost a loved one. the other pills are over the counter, once of which my doctor recommended instead of tramadol. i took the 100mg tonight as i am at my wits end. i really feel trapped in a nasty cycle of pain grief stress & cocktail ive taken in the last few days worries me.i must say however i am finally feeling a little relief . i will continue that exercise you recommended. thanks again for the reply seeing Doc on Monday HEADACHE GONE YAY thank you all for your answers, i appreciate your words of wisdom.all your answers are best answers.
